TEHRAN, Iran – President of Iran, Masoud Pezeskhian has declared that Iran’s nuclear programme is not over contrary to belief in certain quarters.
Pezeskhian who was speaking in Iran said his country’s nuclear programme continues and that any talk that it is over is nothing more than an illusion.
Going forward, he said Iran may negotiate or may not, depending on what is on the table.
Previously, Pezeskhian said depriving Iran of its legal nuclear rights is unacceptable.
President Masoud Pezeshkian who spoke on phone to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the Islamic Republic is committed to international law and has confidence in the transparency of its nuclear activities.
Referring to the recent 12-day Israeli-U.S. war and the renewed push by European countries to revive negotiations, he said that Iran has never sought war, but has instead played an effective role in promoting peace and stability across the region.
“We were attacked by the Zionist regime, in violation of all international standards and laws. Then, while negotiations were ongoing, the United States bombed Iranian nuclear facilities that were fully subject to international inspection,” Pezeshkian pointed out.
He also criticized the silence of global institutions and governments — including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) — in the face of the aggressive and criminal assault on Iran.
“At the very least, our nation expected the IAEA to issue a condemnation in line with its own regulations and legal responsibilities,” he added.
Pezeshkian also hailed the relations between Iran and Armenia as historic and friendly, saying the Islamic Republic is eager to pursue constructive interaction with all neighboring countries.
