LAGOS, Nigeria – The hand of a member of the Peter Obi movement collectively called Obidients has been amputated, the Director General of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Mr. Balogun Akin-Osuntokun made relation in Lagos.
Osuntokun who was speaking on Arise News said the affected member was injured during the Peter Obi mother of all rallies in Lagos last week.
The amputated member of the Obidients movement was one of the 30 injured on their way to the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, venue of the rally in Lagos.
Most of the Obidients movement were not allowed to get to the venue as agents of the state government used vehicles to block their routes, while some were attacked at Jakande, Chevron all on the Lekki Epe Expressway, while others were injured at Adeniji Adele while descending the Third Mainland Bridge and in the Ajegunle axis.
He said he is worried about voter suppression and intimidation ahead of the presidential and national assembly elections slated for Saturday, February 25.
Public Relations Office of the Lagos Police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that four people were injured in the Lekki axis reported at the Ilasan Police division.
He also said that the police is investigating the attacks but so far there has been no update on the issue.
