PDP ANNOUNCES DEATH OF YOUTH LEADER, CALLS FOR PROBE ON ATTACKS

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has announced the death of one of its Youth Leader, Mr. Chidi from Ezinhite, Mbaise Local Government, Imo State.

According to PDP, Chidi died in Abuja on his way to attend the PDP convention.
“We regret to announce the passing away of one Mr. Chidi, a Youth leader and member of the PDP from EZINIHITTE, MBAISE LGA of Imo State.

“He died in the early hours of Saturday, August 12, 2017, in Abuja on his way to attend the just concluded PDP Non-Elective Convention. May his Soul Rest in Peace and We pray the Almighty God give the Family the fortitude to bear this irreparable Loss, Amen”, the party said.

The party also announced attack on party members in Lagos on their way to attend the non-elective convention, describing the development as sad and unfortunate.

“We also received with shock, the attack by gunmen on some PDP delegates from Lagos state, who were on their way to attend the Convention.

“This is sad and unfortunate. We call on the security agencies to investigate the matter and bring perpetrators to book.

“We sympathize with the victims of this barbaric attack and call on our members in Lagos and other states to remain resolute and undeterred”, the PDP said.
