November 16, 2015 – The French Government says it has carried out 150 raids on suspected hideouts of the fighters loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)in France early Monday morning.

The raids followed Friday’s attack by ISIS on bars, restaurants, concert hall and the stade de France in Paris, killing 129 people. Speaking on the attacks, French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls said the attacks were planned and organised from Syria.

“We know that operations were being prepared and are still being prepared, not only against France but other European countries too”, he said, just as French aircraft have attacked Raqqa, in Syria believed to be the stronghold of ISIS.

Meanwhile, the French police has named the 26 year old Salah Abdeslam born in Germany as a key suspect. A huge manhunt is said to be under way for surviving members and those who connived with them in the attacks. Seven ISIS members are said to have died in the coordinated suicide attacks across Paris.

Paris suburb of Bobigny, as well as the cities of Grenoble, Toulouse and Lyon are some of the target, a police source told AFP. So far several people have been arrested after cache of weapons were found in their homes during the raids.
