August 18, 2015 – Father of Nigerian comedy, Pa Moses Adejumo Olaiya, alias Baba Sala is critically ill. The health status of the 80 year old actor and producer deteriorated last night, forcing his family to rush him to University College Hospital, Ibadan for medical attention.
Family sources say he has been ill for quite some time. Olaiya. He along with the late Hubert Ogunde, Kola Ogunmola, Oyin Adejobi and Duro Ladipo are reputed for popularizing theatre and television drama in Nigeria.
A prolific actor and filmmaker, he started his career way back in 1964 as highlife musician with the group known as Federal Rhythm Dandies which also featured Nigeria’s Fuji musician, King Sunny Ade as lead guitarist.
Among his works are Orun Mooru, Aare Agbaye, Mosebolatan, Agba Man, Return Match and Tokunbo,
