Over 10 Soldiers Killed as Military Recaptures Mubi Town

December 5, 2014 – The Nigerian military today said it has recaptured Mubi town which was captured few weeks ago by members of the radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram.

In a statement, Director of Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade said a dozen of soldiers lost their lives in the encounter adding that the soldiers are proud to die least the terrorists rejoice.

He said that the terrorists stormed the town with 30 hilux vans, motorcyles and equipment and were on a mission to take control of Ashaka.

He said that members of the fleeing sect however succeeded in escaping with 3 truckloads full of dead bodies of members of sect.
He said members of the sect have fled into surround countries.

He said the terrorists destroyed some of their equipment before fleeing.
