LIBREVILLE – Ousted President of Gabon, Mr. Ali Bongo Ondimba has called on the people of Gabon to make noise and protest the decision of the military junta to oust him from power.
Ondimba who spoke for the first time in a viral video said his son and wife have been arrested and that he does not know what is happening in his country.
Ondimba who was speaking in an uncoordinated manner called on his supporters to make noise about his ouster and go out to protest.
Ondimba, whose family has ruled Gabon for 56 years, spoke just as the military and the people in Libreville started celebrating his ouster from power.
The military specifically carried above their head, the head of the presidential guard who stopped an attempted coup a few years back for saving them from Ondimba who was announced winner by the electoral umpire in an election that has been condemned as flawed locally and by international observers.
Ali Bongo Ondimba succeeded his father, shortly after he was killed.
The junta has vowed to prosecute Ondimba and his family for corruption.
