August 17, 2015 – Just like yesterday, South African Paralympic gold medalist, Oscar Pistorius will Friday walk out of prison after serving 10 months of his five year jail term for killing his lawyer girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
Pistorius killed Steenkamp February 14, 2013 and was convicted of culpable homicide, killing her unintentionally but unlawfully after he said he mistook her for an intruder.
He will however be moved to Pretoria Island, where he will be under house arrest in the home of his uncle, Arnold.
The mansion reportedly has a private gym, outdoor swimming pool and landscaped gardens.
“It’s more like mansion arrest,” said Christopher, 31, a security guard who works on Arnold’s road told Reuters.
