LAGOS, Nigeria – Nollywood actress, Folake Aremu better known as Orisabunmi is dead. She was 60. Orisabunmi who has featured dozens of films denominated in the Yoruba genre died at her residence in Ibadan on Tuesday.
She died just for months after the demise of her former husband, Jimoh Aliu better known as Aworo.
Bolaji Amusan, President, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) said Orisabunmi died on Tuesday night.
Orisabunmi became popular in the 80s, when she featured in TV series Arelu, with ex-husband and others like Fadeyi Oloro.
Orisabunmi has been a phenomenal part of the film industry for more than four decades. She starred in productions including Arelu,Yanponyanrin, Oluweri Magboojo, Lagidigba among others.
