ABUJA, Nigeria -Coalition of Christian Groups For Good Governance “Nigeria and Diaspora” (COCGOG) has condemned in strong terms the deliberate provocation of a section of the country and grand design to eliminate the justice system in the country and conclude the islamisation of Nigeria.

We hereby warn that President Buhari should return the CJN to his office because the wounded lions are ready to avenge their massacre. No single ethnic group or religion has monopoly of violence. We hereby call on all Christians nationwide to be at alert and await further directives. A word is enough for the wise! We also use this opportunity to call on the international community to prevail on Buhari to toe the part of honour and reverse the ambiguous adventure

In a communique issued after an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, COCGOG said it is indeed shocked that despite the claim by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Pastor Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN) that President Muhammadu Buhari was not aware of the coup against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, he failed to align with his senior learned colleagues in the Bench and Bar.

“From the body language of VP Osinbajo and other Christians in government, it is obvious that they are either under threat or under hypnotic powers in Aso Rock. Hence, they need the prayers of all Christians in Nigeria for spiritual deliverance. We see the suspension of Justice Onnoghen as the height of the plot to hijack the three tiers of government for the benefit of Islam. This is a declaration of war on Christians and Christianity. Hence, it is a criminal indictment on Christians in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, as we see them as both incompetent and untrustworthy”, the Christian group said in a statement by President, Coalition of Christian Groups For Good Governance “Nigeria and Diaspora” (COCGOG), Rev. Daniel Kadzai.

According to the group, the scars of the Nigerian Civil War (1967 – 1970) are still ‘fresh on our body and psyche’, adding “we cannot afford another one.

“We hereby warn that President Buhari should return the CJN to his office because the wounded lions are ready to avenge their massacre. No single ethnic group or religion has monopoly of violence. We hereby call on all Christians nationwide to be at alert and await further directives. A word is enough for the wise! We also use this opportunity to call on the international community to prevail on Buhari to toe the part of honour and reverse the ambiguous adventure”, the Christians said.
