OTUOKE, Bayelsa, Nigeria – At least one soldier has been confirmed dead following an attack by gun men on the residence of former President of Nigeria, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.
Confirming the incident, Presidential spokesman, Mr. Garba Shehu said President Muhammadu Buhari has telephoned former President Goodluck Jonathan to commiserate with him on the loss of one of the soldiers guarding his residence.
The President also commended the gallant soldiers on guard for repelling the attacks from gunmen.
The president also commiserated with the Nigerian Armed forces and families of the deceased for the loss of the soldier.
He assured of protection of life of the former president and lives of all Nigerians wherever they may be found.
