MARYLAND, Lagos, Nigeria – At least one person has been confirmed dead and one other seriously injured when a 20 foot unlatched container fell on two vehicles at Nitel bus stop, enroute Ikeja, from Maryland, Lagos.
Vehicles that were affected were one Toyota Avalon and a villager mini-van. One of the vehicles according to General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, (LASEMA), Mr. Adesina Tiamiyu burst into flames, throwing the whole area into confusion.
He said rescue operation is ongoing and that all vehicles heading to Ikeja from Maryland should for now use alternative routes.
