The victory of Gov. Godwin Obaseki last Saturday, September 19, 2020, has boosted the confidence of other candidates and their political parties hence, all including the incumbent governor, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has stepped up his campaign strategies in his reelection bid.
No one is to be taken for a ride or for granted anymore. The stakes are now high. Everyone seems to be on the same level and page. There is no pretender among the candidates….as all are contenders. Blink an eye at your peril.
Even the Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi who dumped the APC to seek the ticket of PDP but eventually emerged the candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) is said to be basking in the euphoria of the outcome of Edo election thus, exuding and expressing huge confidence.
I gathered that the present slogan among some party members is ONDO IS NOT EDO….implying that Aketi as the governor is fondly called will retain his seat after the poll.
