A former director in the department of Press and Public Relations in the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oshodi-Glover is dead. 

He died on Sunday, 30th of June, 2013 after a brief illness. He was 65. Born on the 31st of March, 1948, he and indigene of Lagos Island,  Lagos State.

He had his early education at St. Paul’s Primary School in 1955 -1962 and Igbobi College, Lagos between 1963 and 1967. From there he proceeded to the Federal School of Science, Lagos between 1966- 1968.

After successfully completing his studies there, he was given scholarship to study abroad at the KIEV State University, where he obtained his Masters Degree in International Relations in 1976.

Mr. Kunle Oshodi – Glover had worked briefly in the Private Sector before he joined the Lagos State Work force on the 19th of August, 1981 as a Principal Assistant Registrar at the Lagos State College of Education, Ijanikin and as a result of  his hard work, he was appointed as the Acting Registrar of the College.

He was redeployed to the then Ministry of Information, Social development, Youth and Culture on the 28th of March, 1985 and was subsequently seconded to the National Electoral Commission, Lagos Headquarters on national assignment on the 31st of January, 1989.

After years of diligence to duty, he was promoted to the post of an Assistant Director Press and Public Relations on the 2nd of January 1991 and he later rose to the post of Director, Press and Public Relations in January 1995. He had various trainings home and abroad including; the UN certificate for Peace Keeping and the UNDIP, Geneva in 1978, Senior Public Relations Course in 1991, Media Workshop in Media Relations in 1994 and Succession Planning Administration Course in 1995.

Mr. Oshodi – Glover, who was an active member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), was a lover of sports and loved travelling, reading and listening to music. He was distinguished for his principles, hard work and dedication to duty.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Taiwo. Oshodi – Glover and four lovely children.
