LAGOS, Nigeria – Presidential candidate of the Labour Party(LP), Mr. Peter Obi has congratulated Noel Ifeanyi Alumona who  recently won  the AFS Prize for Young Global Citizens.

Alumona is the first African to win the prize  since 1914 when it was inaugurated. The AFS  prize is worth USD10,000

“I most happily congratulate our own Noel Ifeanyi Alumona, who recently won the AFS prize for Young Global Citizens. I am elated to learn that he is the first African to receive such a noble award since its inception in 1914”, Peter Obi said.

He explained that having followed his story, “I am very proud of his achievements and contributions to the society in the areas of youth development, education, and more specifically, on ways to improve access to quality education for the indigent and underserved communities.

“We remain unrelenting in our journey towards nation building modalities that a prioritizes education and youth development. By this singular recognition, our teeming youths will be encouraged to compete diligently with their peers across the globe”, he said.
