ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – A Humanitarian worker, Nkechi Ogbuefi, has given reason why she is vying for the 2023 general election to represent Anaocha 1 Constituency in Anambra State House of Assembly, under Labour Party (LP).
She said she is contesting the position to assist the party’s Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, to rescue the country from incompetence, poverty, insecurity, unemployment and hunger in the land .
According to her, she is inclined to bring the most needed dividends of democracy to her Constituents.
Nkechi, made her political position known while addressing Journalists, in Awka, on Sunday evening in preparation for her planned awareness campaign in her Constituency, about the ongoing PVC’s Continuous Voters Registration exercise.
She said the Constituency is where the Presidential Candidate of LP hailed from and she was prepared to do all things to create political awareness in the area .
According to her, Obi is the right person, Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, ethnic, religion and Political affiliation should vote for at this trying time. She added that God has given Nigerians a rescuer, a saviour, an Icon of Nigeria politics, who happen to come from her Constituency.
According to her, Obi is a good example of who leads the country to glory , noting that he did well in Anambra state as a governor.
Nkechi said she decided to join Labour Party to bring dividends of democracy to her Constituency and assist Obi to change lives, change the status-quo of bad leadership that is ravaging the country.
“I am a humanitarian with several non-governmental organisations (NGOs), where we have offer a lot of free medical services and feeding programmes across the country including the flood menace in 2013, where we gave out relief materials to Internally Display Persons (IDP), in some of the most affected states.
“I have been around doing a lot of Humanitarian things to assist the poor masses, especially, in the four communities that constitute Anaocha 1 State Constituency; Agulu, Adazi-Ani, Adazi-Enu and Adazi-Nnukwu.
“This is my third time of contesting for election . I have contested the same position in 2013 under PDP and in 2017 under APGA and I believe this is the right time for me to go and bring in, touch and change lives of my people with the joint effort of our leader, Mr. Peter Obi.
“By God’s grace, why our brother, Obi, who is the incoming President will be at the Aso Rock Villa, we will be in the state to assist him in rescuing the nation from poverty, insecurity, unemployment and hunger bedevilling our beloved country, Nigeria at the moment” Nkechi added .
