Nine people charged for protesting at London City Airport

London, Sept, 07, 2016 – Officers from Aviation Policing have charged nine people for protesting at City Airport, London on Tuesday, 6 September.

“All nine have now been charged with aggravated tresp ass and being unlawfully airside within a restricted area of an aerodrome”, the London Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Those charged are: William Pettifer, 27 of Radford Mill Farm, Radford, Esme Waldron, 23 of Walmer Crescent, Brighton, Sama Baka, 27 of a houseboat on the River Stort, Roydon and Natalie Fiennes, 25 of Thurleigh Road, Wandsworth.

Others ae Alex Etchart, 26 of a houseboat on the River Stort, Roydon, Deborah Francis-Grayson, 31 of St. Mary’s Road, Slough, Richard Collet-White, 23 of Spring Road, Kempston, Ben Tippet, 24 of Thurleigh Road, Wandsworth and Sam Lund-Harket, 32 of a houseboat on the River Stort, Roydon.

However, the nine involved in the protest have been released on bail to appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 14 September.
