NIAMEY – Niger’s military junta led by General Abdourahamane Tchiani has met with the 14th Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and his entourage.
The junta received them at the a Presidential Palace in Niamey, about 24 hours after refusing to meet with the General Abdusalami Abubakar-led Presidential committee.
The development is seen as part of deplomatic move to resolve the impasse few days after the President Mohamed Bazoum democratically elected government was overthrown by the junta.
It not yet clear what the delegation discussed with the junta but the atmosphere was very calm and relaxed. Photos by Daily Trust.
