March 22, 2015 – Nigeria today defeated Senegal 1-0 to win the seventh African Youth Championship. Nigeria won the championship in 1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 2005 and 2011.
Nigeria was put ahead of Senegal in the 18 minutes when Bernard Bulbwa fired home a shot that beat goalkeeper Ibrahima Sy.

The host team however got a better part of the first half as the home team struggled to equalize. Brilliant saves from the keeper kept Nigeria in the top spot, wining the AYC for record 7th time.
