ABUJA, Nigeria – The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has put a stop to the expulsion of Positive FA from the national league and two year ban imposed by the Nationwide League One, NLO stressing that Article 2.06 does not apply for lack of evidence.
Instead of suspension, the NFF decided to withdraw Positive FA from the national league for failing to honour two matches in accordance with Article 4.12(7).
The NLO had expelled Positive FA from the league for failing to honour two matches.
See more below:
FINDINGS:
1. The Committee found out that Positive Football Academy failed to honour two (2) of their scheduled matches in breach of Article 4.12(7), NLO Rules and Regulation.
2. The Committee found out that Positive FA failed to present hard copies of their player licenses as required by the law during one of the matches and that resulted into a walk over against Positive FA.
3. The Committee found out that, there is no evidence whatsoever, that Positive FA withdrew from the league as provided under Article 2.06, NLO Rules and Regulation on withdrawal.
4. That Article 2.06 of the rules does not apply under the circumstances of this case.
DECISIONS:
Based on the above findings, the Committee decides as follows:
1. That Positive FA is hereby withdrawn from the League in accordance with Article 4.12(7) of the rules for failure to honour two (2) matches.
2. That due to the fact that there was no evidence that Positive FA withdrew from the league, the decision of the NLO expelling Positive FA from the league and its officials banned for two (2) years in accordance with Article 2.06 of the rules does not apply in the present case and therefore it is set aside.
3. That the above decisions are without prejudice to the right of appeal.
