July 15, 2014 – Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to negotiate with Boko Haram, stressing that negotiating with the radical Islamic sect is not weakness but strategy.

Tambuwal who spoke while receiving members of the Bring Back Our Girls Campaign said negotiation would help to secure the safe return of the Chibok girls who were kidnapped from the Borno State owned Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok over three months ago.

“If negotiations is what would bring back the Chibok girls, for Goodness sake, lets negotiate and save the children. Negotiation is not submitting, you are not. It is a strategy. So let’s get these girls out and then if you want to confront them you go ahead and confront them and take them head on but whatever we need to do, we must do as a government to bring back these girls safely & alive” he said.

Tambuwal spoke even as the caucus of the Peoples’ Democratic Party(PDP) in the house has endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan for second term in office.
