NDLEA Anambra intercepts truck load of drugs weighing 1,980 heading to Yobe
ONITSHA, Nigeria – Anambra State Command of National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a truck loaded with illegal drugs weighing about 1,910 kilogrammes heading to Yobe state.
Briefing journalists in Awka, Anambra State on about the activities of the command ,the state commander Mr Muhammad Misbahu Idris said they intercepted the truck after credible information from the Public.
According to him, the drugs were covered with home commodities like red oil , slippers and others and were allegedly coming from Delta state and heading to Yobe state.
He gave the breakdown of the drugs as follows,1,635 kilogrammes of cannabis sativa, 235 kilogrammes of tramadol,4.6 kilogrammes diazapam , 34 kilogrammes of Exrl 5 and 0.10 grams of cocaine .
According to him, the command was committed to ensuring that those who want to use Anambra State as transit for drugs will not have it friendly ,just as he warned the residents in the state to avoid illegal drugs as the command has zero tolerance for it.
The commander also stated that the command has put in place adequate mechanism to ensure that people of Anambra state are free of drugs trafficking and abuses .

He called on the public to partner with command to enable it raid the state off of dangerous drugs. He also commended the governor of Anambra state Mr Willie Obiano for the support, he has been giving to the command.
