July 18, 2014 – The Nigeria Copyright Commission (NCC) has finalized arrangement to lunch the electronic Copyright Registration Scheme otherwise called e-copyright registration in Lagos on Friday, July 25, 2014.

In a statement, South West Zonal Director, NCC, Mr. Chris Nkwocha said the commission introduced the Copyright Notification Scheme to enable authors and creators of copyright works to notify the commission of their works and submit same to the commission for documentation in its database.

He said the commission created the e-Copyright Registration System as a wider platform for easy access to copyright authors and members of the public.

He said the Nigerian e-Copyright Registration System(NeCRS) offers platform for documentation of copyright works of qualified person from any part of the world and copyright protection for Nigerian works and authors in any country signatory to the International Copyright Conventions, to which Nigeria is a member.

He said that the event is slated for Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja by 11am.
