LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) has announced the appointment of a Local Organising Committee (LOC) to coordinate its 2025 Annual Conference scheduled to hold in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
In a statement signed by its Transition Committee Chairman, Prof. Paul Ananaba (SAN), and Secretary, Okey Leo Ohagba, the section said the appointments were made to ensure the successful hosting of the high-profile legal gathering.
The committee will be chaired by Godswill A. Umoh, with Ime Umofia as co-chair, while Assam Assam Jnr will serve as secretary. Other members of the LOC include representatives of NBA branches in Akwa Ibom and several notable lawyers drawn from across the state.
Among them are Blessing Udofia-Poromon, Peter Ime Akran (NBA Eket Branch), Ikara O. Ikara (NBA Oron Branch), Charles Okon (NBA Ikot-Ekpene Branch), Francis Ekanem, Chidimma Ngozi Amadi, O.B. Akran, Uwem Umoh, Anwangaabasi Umanah, Augustine Udoh, Richard Bassey Iyaha, Iheanyi Waturuocha, Sebastian Udoh, Sylvanus Obot, Otu Otu, Terem Inyambe, Prince Okenwa Ahuruonye, Henry Samuel Effiong, Newman Onwueje, Kingsley Uche Iheanacho, Magistrate Idongesit Ntemisua, Mrs. Gloria Etim, Eseoghene Irene Onwuezobe, Simon Eze Nwamuo, Chisom Atasie, Charles Ajagba, Sammy Etuk, Wills Uduak Essien, Udeme Ettentuk, and Peter Edidiong.
NBA-SPIDEL noted that the LOC would play a crucial role in mobilising stakeholders, coordinating logistics, and ensuring the conference lives up to its tradition of excellence.
“We urge all stakeholders and colleagues to accord them maximum support to deliver excellence on the assignment,” the statement read.
The NBA-SPIDEL Annual Conference is one of the flagship events of the Nigerian Bar Association, bringing together legal practitioners, policymakers, and civil society leaders to deliberate on issues of public interest, human rights, and development law.
