THREE ARMS ZONE, Abuja, Nigeria – The Nigerian Air Force is set to partner with UNESCO Centre, Abuja to help curb the challenges of insecurity in the country.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar made this known in Abuja when delegates from UNESCO Centre, Abuja paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
The CAS said the ideals of the centre were in tandem with that of the military in its mandate to maintain peace and security through the promotion of education, science and technology development and respect for the culture of individuals’ communities as a form of intelligence gathering.
The CAS opined that it is in the interest of the military to constantly review the civil military relations as this is always mutually beneficial as evident in the progress made thus far in the fight against insurgency and militancy in the country.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the group, Dominic Ogakwu Jr had commended the efforts made by the Nigerian Air Force in the promotion and sustenance of peace in the country and the continuous effort to defend and protect the territorial integrity of the federal republic of Nigeria against external and local threats to the peaceful coexistence of Nigerians.
Comrade Ogakwu said the group was in the CAS office to intimate him on the programmes of the Centre and to partner with the Nigerian Air Force in achieving the Centre’s vision; for humanity to live in a world where peace and development is defended and promoted by all and her mission, which is to create a world firmly rooted in socio-cultural value and revolution of attitudes through the instrumentality of education for the attainment of peace and development.
