DAMASCUS – There are reports indicating that Prime Minister of Syria, Mohammed al-Bashir has been tasked with the responsibility of forming the new Syrian government that will oversee transition of Syria to a democratically elected government.
The Prime Minister who has been in Damascus haD vowed to help in the peaceful transition of power.
According to Syrian media, Mohammed al-Bashir was appointed after he met with Ahmad al-Sharaa, one of the leaders in the armed opposition that toppled the Bashar al-Assad government.
Following the meeting al-Bashir was unanimously appointed to form a transitional government along with Mohammed al-Jallali.
Meanwhile, there are intense meeting with diplomatic missions in Damascis to secure Syria and welcome home all Syrians who were forced into exile during the Assad regime.
