A NORTH London man has been slapped with 19 charges of voyeurism following a shocking Met Police probe into an alleged serial “Peeping Tom.”
Anthony Durkan, 35, is accused of prowling the streets of Islington in the early hours of the morning to secretly film terrified women through their windows.
Cops launched a major investigation after a series of disturbing incidents allegedly took place over a six-year period between January 2020 and March 2026.
Durkan, of Corporation Street, Islington, was hauled in by cops and officially charged on Monday, 11 May. He has been released on bail and is hauled to face the music at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 21 July.
Scotland Yard is now desperately hunting for more potential victims who fear they may have been targeted by the midnight creeper.
Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger, who is leading the hunt, moved to reassure panicked locals.
“We understand news like this cause concern within the local community, particularly among women living in the area. I want to reassure the public that these allegations are being treated with the utmost seriousness,” DCI Alger said.
“At this time, there is no information to suggest there is any wider risk to the community.”
The Met has set up a dedicated team to handle the fallout and is begging anyone with information to break their silence.
DCI Alger added: “We are now keen to hear from anyone who believes they may have been affected by this case. We recognise that coming forward can feel daunting, but anyone who contacts us will be listened to, supported, and guided by specialist officers.”
Detectives fear there may be more victims in the Islington area who have no idea they were filmed. They are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious—no matter how small—to get in touch immediately.
