DOHA, Qatar – Lionel Messi showed class in the overwhelming victory of Argentina over Croatia on Tuesday night to move into the final after 3-0 victory at the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Argentina shot into the lead in the 34th minutes when Messi scored via penalty after the Croatian defender Dominik Livakovic tripped Julian Alverez in the critical area.
Four minutes later, Julian Alvarez found the back of the Croatian net, beating the goal keeper hands down.
Julian Alvarez was on target in the 69th minutes for the second time, scoring the third goal for Argentina with his right foot after connecting a very accurate pass from Lionel Messi.
Ironically, Croatia had more of the ball possession but not fortunate enough to find the opponent’s net.
