AUGSBURG – Augsburg has signed Germany forward Mergim Berisha on a permanent transfer from Turkey’s Fenerbahce but that doesn’t guarantee that he will also stay.
Fenerbahce made the announcement on Sunday, with the transfer fee estimated at €4 million ($4.4 million).
Berisha, 25, had played at the Bundesliga club on loan in the past season and was their best scorer with nine goals and earning his first Germany caps in two March friendlies.
Kicker sports magazine said that Berisha has told club officials he wants to leave Augsburg. There should be interest but the report said there has been no concrete offer for him.
Augsburg start pre-season training on Monday.
