ABUJA, Nigeria – Mr. Christian Aburime, the Special Adviser to the Anambra State, Governor, Professor Charles Soludo has played down the vary obvious rejection of his principal at the VIP wing of the Eagle Square during the inauguration of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President.
In an online video the governor had approached the VIP section for a seat, where he rightly ought to be but he was politely turned down and directed to the popular area where he sat as the only important figure in the midst of Nigerians.
Soludo was visibly angry following the way he was treated but instead of leaving the venue, he chose to sit among the popular side with other Nigerians.
But in a statement, Soludo’s spokesman played down the development, instead of condemning the incident decided to play to the gallery.
“A very mischievous and misleading video is currently been circulated online by some mischief makers who derive pleasure in mis-informing the general public
“The video shows Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, arriving the Eagle Square for the Presidential swearing-in ceremony in Abuja and was subsequently being re-directed courteously by protocol officials to the rightful position reserved for him at the other side of the VVIPs sitting positions
“Redirecting invited guests to their rightful sitting position is neither an issue nor a condescending act
“For the records, Governor Soludo remains one of the few Governors that was respectfully honoured and invited officially to attend the presidential swearing-in ceremony
“Consequently, we call on the general public to disregard the trending video. It is pure mischief and deliberate act to mis-inform the public”, Christian Aburime said.
