June 24, 2015 – The only evening newspaper currently running in Nigeria, PM News will go off the news stand with effect from Monday, 29th, June, 2015.
The newspaper will however remain online. We gathered that the newspaper took the decision following high cost of operation including the cost of purchasing newsprint, circulation and all other cost.
We gathered that certain categories of staff will also be laid off following its decision to remain online. The newspaper has been owing staff eight months salaries and there is yet to be a compromise on how management intends to pay the arrears.
PM News started publishing since 1994 and it has been present on the newsstand everyday except on Saturdays and holidays.
