October 13, 2015 – Manchester Football Club says it has recalled its midfielder, Joe Rothwell from Barnsley where he has been playing on loan.

A press statement on the website of Manchester FC said Barnsley 20, has been suffering from tonsillitis and has, subsequently, returned to the Aon Training Complex.

“Rothwell made six appearances in total for the Tykes and was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Crewe Alexandra”, the statement added.

Meanwhile, Barnsley has thanked Rothwell for his services and wished him a speedy recovery. Fellow United midfield man Ben Pearson, who was named the club’s Man of the Match last weekend, will remain at the League One outfit.
