IKEJA, Lagos, Nigeria – Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja  Domestic  Violence and Sexual Offences  Court has ordered the remand of Onyeka Mbaka in the Kirikiri Maximum Correctional Centre for alleged defilement of a 15-year-old girl.

Mbaka will remain in custody until March 22, 2024  as directed by Justice Oshodi.

The defendant, whose residential address was not disclosed, faced charges of defilement brought by the Lagos State Government.

Despite pleading not guilty, the state counsel, Ms. Bukola Okeowo, requested the court to remand the defendant accordingly.

Okeowo informed the court that the prosecution planned to present three witnesses to substantiate the charges against Mbaka.

The alleged offense took place in March 2023 at No. 16, Moshalasi Street, Ilasa area of Lagos, contravening Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
