MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE produced a second-half masterclass for the ages to dismantle a despairing Burnley and haul Nottingham Forest toward Premier League safety.

On a sun-drenched afternoon at the City Ground, the Forest talisman netted a sensational 15-minute hat-trick to turn a potential disaster into a 4-1 demolition.

While the Clarets headed into the break dreaming of an escape act, they left the East Midlands staring into the Championship abyss.

For 45 minutes, it looked like Vincent Kompany’s men might pull off the unthinkable. Despite Forest’s early dominance, it was Burnley who struck first in stoppage time of the opening period. Zian Flemming silenced the home crowd, turning home a Quilindschy Hartman cross to give the visitors a lead they scarcely deserved but desperately needed.

But whatever Nuno Espírito Santo put in the half-time tea worked wonders.

The second half belonged to one man. Gibbs-White, playing with the swagger of an England international in his prime, leveled the scoring on 62 minutes with a clinical finish that ignited the “Tricky Trees” faithful.

The momentum shifted entirely. Seven minutes later, the City Ground erupted again. Omari Hutchinson, a livewire all afternoon, whipped in a pinpoint cross that Gibbs-White met with a thunderous volley, leaving Martin Dubravka with no chance.

The hat-trick—and the match ball—was secured in the 77th minute. This time it was the captain’s bravery, rising highest to loop a header over the stranded Burnley keeper from a Ryan Yates delivery.

With Burnley’s spirit broken, Forest added the final flourish in the eighth minute of injury time. Igor Jesus, the Brazilian powerhouse, bullied his way through a tired defense to slot home the fourth, ensuring the scoreline reflected the home side’s total second-half dominance.

The win moves Forest five points clear of the drop zone with just five games to play. For Burnley, sitting 19th and looking lost, the flame is flickering out.
