QATAR – Uruguay striker, Luis Suarez wept profusely at the Al Janoub Stadium, Qatar, venue of the encounter between his team and Ghana at the 2022 FIFA  World Cup.

For Suarez it was bitterness even with the 2-0 victory against Ghana as his team could not  make it from the group stage into the round of 16.

Ghana lost the opportunity to get ahead of Uruguay  in the 19th minutes when  Sergio Rochiet conceded penalty after tripping  Mohammed Kudus.

Andrew Ayew’s shot in the penalty kick was effectively blocked off by the Uruguay’s goal keeper. Ghana however continued to have the upperhand  in terms of ball possession in the encounter until the 26th minutes when Giorgian  De  Arrascaeta made good use of  his head to beat Ghana goal keeper to but his side 1-0 ahead of Ghana.

Giorgian  De  Arrascaeta made it 2-0 for his side four minutes later and held on to the scores until the end of the game.
