LAGOS, Nigeria – Chairman of the Lagos Internal Revenue Service, (LIRS), Mr. Ayo Subair has reminded staff that the agency is considered to be on essential service and therefore not affected by the directive of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu that workers on grade Level 1- 12 should stay away from work for now.

The Governor had given the directive as part of measures to reduce crowd in the office to halt rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic but that the order does not affect those on essential service.

In a statement made available to www.starconnectmedia.com, the LIRS chairman said the management has been given the discretion to determine the pattern of staff attendance at this time.

He said that while awaiting details of the new arrangement, all staff are directed to report for duty as normal.
