ABUJA, Nigeria – The atmosphere of fear, which characterised the Kaduna-Abuja road seems to have returned despite the heavy presence of security men on the road.
On Sunday, night gunmen had a field day on the very busy road, where they kidnapped scores, forcing many, including lawmakers to run into the bush for cover.
The incident according to former lawmaker, Shehu Sani occurred at 9pm near Kateri Village along the road.
He said to of his friends, both in the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC and another from an opposition party bolted into the forest to save their lives.
“Just when we felt safer,yesternight kidnappers returned to the Kaduna Abuja road.They blocked the road abducted some scores of persons around 9pm near Kateri village.
“Two of my Honorable friends from both the ruling and opposition parties had to run through the bush like Usain Bolt.
“But despite this incidence,there is stronger security presence along the route than it used to be in the past”, he said on X.
