MOSCOW – Members of the Russian law-making body are processing a bill in the State Duma, the lower house to prohibit legal gender change operation.
Gender change operation has become the trend in contemporary society, with most men undergoing orchiectomy, a surgical operation in which the male scrotum is used to make the labia, while the erectile tissue of the penis is used to make the neo-clitoris, that way the urethra is preserved and functional.
The proposed legislation is part of a series of conservative measures the lawmakers are introducing following Russian invasion of Ukraine.
According to the bill, all medical procedures related to altering an individual’s sex including development of primary and secondary sexual characteristics would be prohibited.
