Lagos, Nigeria, February 19, 2016 – Management of the Lagos State University, LASU says it has not increased certificate collection fee contrary to reports in the social media.
In a statement, LASU management said certificate collection fee remains N5,000.
“It has come to the attention of the Lagos State University Management, the purported aincrease in the payment of collection fee for the University’s Certificate from Five Thousand [N5,000:00] Naira to Twenty Thousand [N20,000:00] Naira being spread by some faceless and unscrupulous people.
“The false information/rumour has gained prominence on various social media platforms.
The University Management wishes to state categorically that the payment for the collection of Lagos State University [LASU] Certificate remains Five Thousand [N5,000:00] Naira only. The Management has NOT increased the fee, and is not considering such increment” LASU management said.
It said management would like to add that such false information/rumour should be discountenanced.
“There is no iota of truth in such malicious, false, unfounded and baseless rumour which is aimed at bringing the name of the University into disrepute. It is just a figment of imagination of the faceless people behind the rumour.
“In view of this development, members of the University Community and the general public are advised to rely on information from the University Management, disseminated through the University’s official bulletin and its website: www.lasu.edu.ng’’, the statement said.
