LAGOS, Nigeria – The Lagos State Government has scheduled a controlled demolition of distressed buildings in police barracks in Ikeja, Lagos.
In a statement, Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Damilola Oke Osayintolu said the the pre-emptive demolition will be carried out under the supervision of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, due to the precarious condition of the building and possible secondary incidents that could occur if left unmanaged.
He urged members of the public to remain calm and refrain from panicking and circulating misleading information about the exercise on the social media.
The demolition will take place at Mopol 20 Barracks GRA, behind Area F.
