December 12, 2014 – The Lagos State Government has said Messrs CCECC Nigeria Limited which it hired will carry out repair works on damaged expansion joint on Oworonsoki- Ogudu Bridge along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Ibadan bound side) in Kosofe Local Government Area on Sunday, December 14th, 2014 between the hours of 9:00 and 11:00am.
In a press statement signed by Commissioner for Transport, Comrade Kayode Opeifa said that vehicular movement from Oworonsoki/ Ifako would be restricted to two lanes for the short period of the maintenance exercise.
According to him, vehicles moving inward Lagos from Ketu – Ojota interchange/ Ogudu would not be affected during the exercise.
“This notice serves as awareness information on the partial closure of the bridge. Motorists and other road users are therefore advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
The State Government appeals for caution and co-operation from all road users by obeying all traffic regulations and ensure that traffic flows freely during the maintenance period”, he said.
While regretting any inconvenience to motorists, he said the state government has directed all relevant agencies to ensure free flow of traffic during the period.
