Lagos, Nigeria, February 03, 2016 – The Lagos State Government has said that it will no longer tolerate street parking on both sides of the road along Allen Avenue, saying enforcement of the traffic laws against offenders will commence on Monday, February 08, 2016.

Commissioner for Transportation Dr. Dayo Mobereola who made the revelation said government will impound any vehicle parked by the road side from Opebi to Allen Round About in Ikeja.

“All business premises and visitors to the area should endeavour to park their vehicles within their premises or on side streets along the stretch.

“It should be observed that any violation of this no parking order will be appropriately sanctioned by the various Law Enforcement Agencies charged with the responsibility of ensure compliance with this order.

“In line with the provisions of the Lagos State Traffic Law 2012 all vehicles (tricycles and Okada) restricted from the road must also observe the restriction.”

The commissioner urged business premises to ensure compliance to avoid the closure of their premises or sanctions against their customers.

“Lagos State Government appreciates the continued partnership with the people of the state and will continue to strive for a Lagos that works for all’’, he said.
