LAGOS, Nigeria – The Honorable Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has tested positive to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Commissioner for Information, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho who made the revelation on the social media said Professor Abayomi became aware of his status following the required testing protocol of contact tracing procedures.
“However, he is doing well with no symptoms”, the commissioner said. Akin Abayomi had been in the fore front of the war against Coronavirus in Lagos State.

The Commissioner for Information made the revelation few hours after the health commissioner posted a statement showing that he has tested positive to Coronavirus.
“With utmost sense of responsibility, I am obliged to make it known to the general public that I have tested positive to #COVID19.
“Consequently, I have proceeded on a 14 days self- isolation and treatment at home”, Professor Akin Abayomi said.,
