STUTTGART – Bruno Labbadia conducted Sunday training at VfB Stuttgart but his future as coach of the Bundesliga club remained unclear with officials meeting amid reports he would be axed after just four months.

“We are continuing our talks,” Stuttgart chairman Alexander Wehrle told dpa.

The Bild paper had reported after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat at Union Berlin that Labbadia would most likely have to go after managing just one win from 11 Bundesliga games since being appointed in December for a second term at the club he previously coached 2010-2013.

It named Markus Gisdol, a former Stuttgart under-17 team coach who last was in charge at Russia’s Lokomotiv Moscow, a candidate to take over.

Sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth did not want to confirm the report as he announced an analysis for Sunday while also warning that “we will not be idle and watch the downfall.”
