BY OUR SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT ILORIN, NIGERIA

It was a Sunday stroll in the Ilorin sun for Kwara United as they dismantled a toothless El-Kanemi Warriors 3-0, proving once again that when the “Harmony Boys” find their rhythm, few in the NPFL can dance with them.

The stars of the show were undoubtedly the Kwara forward line, led by the irrepressible Junior Aimufua, who operated like a master puppeteer. Aimufua didn’t just play the game; he dictated it, turning the Warriors’ defense into a disorganized mess from the opening whistle.

The Early Strike
The breakthrough came just 10 minutes in. Aimufua, ghosting into space on the flank, delivered a pinpoint ball that found Wasiu Alalade. The striker made no mistake, burying his chance to ignite the home crowd. It was a goal made in Ilorin and finished with the clinical edge that has defined Kwara’s resurgence this season.

Double Trouble
El-Kanemi, who arrived with dreams of a smash-and-grab, looked shell-shocked. Their midfield was bypassed with ease, and by the 31st minute, the mountain became a skyscraper. M. Samsudeen—another standout performer on the day—found the net to double the advantage. The Warriors’ keeper was left grasping at thin air as Kwara’s slick passing movements tore through the visitors’ spine.

The Final Blow
Despite a desperate triple substitution from the El-Kanemi bench in the second half, the tide never turned. Kwara remained in total control, anchored by a disciplined midfield and a backline that barely broke a sweat.

The cherry on top arrived in the 69th minute. Abdulsalam Abdulsalam rose to the occasion, latching onto a loose ball to smash home the third. It was a goal that effectively ended the contest, turning the final twenty minutes into a victory lap for the hosts.

Star Men
While the scoreline reads 3-0, the real story was the gulf in class. Junior Aimufua walked off to a standing ovation, his creative fingerprints all over the result. At the back, Kwara remained a fortress, leaving the Warriors to face the long journey home with nothing but a bruised ego and a lot of questions.

For Kwara United, this wasn’t just a win—it was a statement. The Harmony Boys are playing a very loud tune indeed.
