MOSCOW – There are indications that Russia will back out of the United Nations and Turkey brokered grain deal after five weeks.
This is coming on the heel of pronouncements by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the role of the UN was assessed as insignificant as a guarantor of the deal.
The Russian Ministry is saying that the grain deal will now only exist for three to five weeks.
The deal was extended for 90 days earlier in the year.
The deal allows Ukraine to ship grain and related food stuff and fertilizers from three black seaports through a maritime humanitarian corridor.
So far, over 25 million metric tons and foodstuffs have been exported to 45 countries and in the process reducing the high cost of grains.
