BERLIN – Sabastian Sawe led a men’s podium sweep for Kenya at the Berlin half marathon on Sunday while Britain’s Eilish McColgan topped the women’s race.
Sawe clocked 59 minutes at the Brandenburg Gate finish in the Berlin Half Marathon as he beat last year’s winner Alex Kibet by 11 seconds, with Kiprop Bravin another 11 seconds back in third.
Commonwealth Games 10,000 metres champion McColgan won the women’s event in 1:05:43 hours for the 21.1km distance.
She held off Ethiopian rivals Tsigie Gebreselama and Yalemget Yaregal by 30 and 44 seconds, respectively in the Berlin Half Marathon.
