Nigeria, April 15, 2016 – A former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Habib Jega is dead. He died in a auto crash. According to family sources, the former speaker died along Birnin Kebbi-Kangiwa road around 5:22 pm today.
Premium Times reported that the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Dakingari, who confirmed t confirmed the death on phone said , “We are currently attending his burial according to Islamic right in Jega.”
The deceased was impeached in 2015 during the build up to the 2015 general election as rumours emerged he would join the then opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.

Until his death, he was Special Adviser on Local Government to the current Governor of Kebbi State, Atiku Bagudu.
