PORT HARCOURT, River – Nollywood filmmaker, Michael Jaja Acha is dead. He died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital in River State after a brief ailment.
He was 58.
It is not clear the kind of ailment that killed him.
A Nollywood star, Uche Ebere who confirmed the development on the social media described the incident as a very sad one.
She said the burial of the film director comes up at the weekend adding that a committee has been set up to take of the burial arrangement.
“I may not remember to reach everyone but if you find in your heart to support the family, please let me know”, she said.
It’s a sad one, indeed. I remember he directed one of the movies I acted in, “League of Gentlemen” starring Olu Jacobs, Ini Edoh, etc. Ah, my heart bleeds, cos he was such a great and creative director, well-loved by all who ever worked with him. Nollywood will surely miss him! Go well, brother!
