TEL AVIV – The Israeli Defence Forces, IDF has announced the death of five soldiers in a gun battle with the Islamic resistant in Lebanon,Hezbollah.
In a statement, Spokesman of the IDF Rear Admiral,Daniel Hagari said families of the deceased have been informed.
Among the five are two commanders, a platoon commander and Squad Commander.
He gave the names of the soldiers and their ranks.
The dead soldiers are
– Captain Itay Marcovich, aged 22, from Kokhav Ya’ir, a Platoon Commander in the 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade. He fell during combat in southern Lebanon.
– Staff Sergeant Sraya Elbom, aged 21, from Mehola, Squad Commander in the 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade. He died during combat in southern Lebanon.
– Staff Sergeant Dror Hen, aged 20, from Gan Haim, Squad Sergeant in the 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade.He was killed during combat in southern Lebanon.
– Staff Sergeant Nir Gofer, aged 20, from Dimona, a soldier in the 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade. He fell during combat in southern Lebanon.
– Sergeant Shalev Itzhak Sagron, aged 21, from Sderot, a soldier in the 51st Battalion, Golani Brigade. He fell during combat in southern Lebanon.
